WELCOME
The club was formed in 1974 and caters for people's interest in the heritage and restoration of vintage machines including Stationary Engines as used in Agriculture and Industry. We are a growing club with 70+ members and are always willing to accept more! We have members of all abilities from highly skilled engineers able to help and offer support, through to novices who perhaps have more enthusiasm than skill. All are fired by an interest in helping to preserve and display our engineering heritage.
The aims of the club are the preservation, presentation and use of bygone agricultural/industrial engines, implements, tools, vintage machinery and model engines. Although based primarily on the interest in Stationary Engines, the club also welcomes owners or enthusiasts of vintage and classic cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and horticultural equipment..
Whether you have an engine or not, or you are simply looking for information, we would like to hear from you, all are welcome to join in
We run and support events during the summer months for exhibiting engines and hold regular meetings through September to May in Macclesfield.
We often have a speaker or a film/slide show, sometimes a quiz and always a natter – it’s a friendly gathering, why not come along and join us for an evening and see for yourself!
Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 8pm as below at The Silk Trader Macclesfield SK11 7AD.
Membership Cost of membership is £14 per year, the membership fee includes £5,000,000 public liability insurance, covering any rally or show in the British Isles and EU providing members adhere to the safety code.
Renewal of membership needs to be completed at a meeting or by post to Andrew Milroy, 57 Ullswater Road, Handforth, Wilmslow, Cheshire. SK9 3NG.
At most shows and rallies proof of insurance will be asked for; it is therefore advisable to carry your membership card to all shows. Should you wish to join please contact the membership secretary Andrew Milroy - Tel: 01625 528122 Email: andrewmilroy(at)btinternet.com or at his postal address above.
